Balloon On Needles (With Demonstration Section)

stickman puts a balloon on a plate with needles
Here is an epilogue of what happens next:

stickman admits that needles on the plate are real

DEMONSTRATION SECTION

This is TRUE.

Balloon surface is made of up small molecules linked together. If the link between molecules is broken (e.g. by stronger force), the air inside the balloon rush out via broken area.

And the balloon pops.

The key is to break the link.

let's try to imagine an RPG battle:

Assuming you can only hit 3 times, each hit costs 90 HP.

Scenario 1: You choose to hit all enemies once, no enemy is defeated.

Scenario 2: You choose to hit a single enemy three times, that enemy is defeated.

If we put a ballon on a plate with only one needle, the force that the needle exerts to balloon surface will be the same as the weight of balloon, while touching area is just a very very tiny point. The link between molecules of balloon surface can be broken easily, just like scenario 2:

If we put a balloon on a plate with thousands of needles, the weight of balloon will spread out on a large scale, therefore every needle exerts only a small fraction of total to the balloon surface. Not enough to break the link, just like scenario 1.

Finally, make sure needle tips on the plate are on the same horizon, or else balloon may still pop.

Thank you for reading this demonstration section!

P.S. A comics named Crawling On Ice, posted in June 2018, has the same principle as today's comic. If you are interested, you are welcomed to click the link and enjoy the story!

Another stickman comic containing Demonstration Section as well can be found here.
